JUDGES COMMENTS:

King of the Castle in Pakington Street West Geelong is moving ahead in leaps and bounds. Last year it focused on coffee and a selection of sandwiches, wraps and slices. Now it has installed a full commercial kitchen which is pumping out an innovative array of dishes.

Children are well catered for and local producers are supported at King of the Castle.

A very buzzy vibe. Smiling, well-uniformed staff Pumping soundtrack fitting the urban/industrial vibe aesthetic like a chamois glove. As walk-ins we had a brief wait for a cleared table which enable us to observe the full house on a very chilly Sunday morning. People were obviously very settled and content, and the baristi were pumping out brews like a metronome. Simply the best Magic I have had in a Very. Long. Time. Whoever is driving the espresso machine has the ¨magic” touch.
